If you are drained and exhausted it is a sure sign that you are in the crazy busy cycle. Life should be fun and not exhausting right? Well when you have too much on your plate to do then you do it day in and day out it sets you on a pattern you might not even know you’re in.

And the crazy thing is you are bound to do it over and over again until you just drop to the floor in the bathroom and say out loud “I can’t do this anymore, something has to give!” That is what happened to me. I didn’t even know I was in the crazy busy cycle because I was so blasted busy to realize it. And believe it or not while I was in this busy cycle I thought that I wasn’t getting enough done. That’s embarrassing when your business has to do with helping others in their time management issues, LOL.

After the bathroom floor issue the next morning I called a friend of mine, you know those kind of friends that you think gets everything done by the fact that she has time to take a vacation or to read a good novel from time to time? I asked her if she would have an accountability call every day at 8:00 am, say what we would do for the day then email what we did in the evening. It went great and I actually got more done then I thought.

Into the second week I notice something interesting. I wasn’t getting everything done I said I wanted to do and I was carrying things over to the next day and then the next day after that. By end of that week I noticed that I never did get everything done on my to do list. When I wrote it on the list for that day I assumed I would get it done. Bingo, no wonder I was exhausted and no wonder I felt like I wasn’t getting everything done, I wasn’t.

I realized there was not enough hours in the day to all I listed. From then on I only expected myself to get done 3-5 things for the day knowing I “for sure” would do them with everything else icing on the cake. What I noticed was that I relaxed, felt accomplished and the best thing of all was I broke the crazy busy cycle that I didn’t even know that I was on. Imagine that.

So grab a few ah ha moments for yourself and see how much you really get done of your to do list. Then promise yourself you will put only what you know can accomplish and feel good at the end of the day that you did them. A few weeks of getting things done on your short list you will feel like a million bucks.
